Schmittchen in Cologne

The restaurant that we visited the most. No matter whether you eat here or just want to drink something, you are always very welcome. By the way, there is the best goulash soup I have ever eaten and there have been many in my life.

Older waiter with glasses let us understand very quickly that guests who just want a drink are not welcome. Slammed the third Kölsch glass on the table. Didn't get a tip and thus also lost potential regular customers. What a shame

Unfortunately, I made the experience with a very, very unfriendly waiter, who slams the Kölsch on the table and gives the feeling of being undesirable. Definitely not to be recommended if you want to be treated as a customer and not a subhuman.

Rather below average experience. Regardless of whether it is service, food or compliance with the corona rules. The service staff sometimes has the mask on, sometimes under the chin. Pepper and salt is simply taken from the next table and placed over. We only got the note for the follow-up after asking several times. Food wasn't special. Fried potatoes way too dry. Schnitzel too.

Unfortunately disappointing. I went to lunch with my girlfriend last night. My request for a recommendation for another dish in addition to the potato pancakes with matjes I had chosen was acknowledged by the waitress with "No, that's enough. It's a big portion, you don't need anything else!". Ok, then not. Later, when the temperatures got a little fresher, my friend asked me to turn on the radiant heater under the umbrella with "No! It's not worth it for 2 people - you know, that costs us 12 euros an hour!" acknowledged. So we were allowed to continue enjoying the cool evening air. The food came quickly but was average at best. The "fresh bratwurst" seemed to have been fried hours beforehand and only warmed up again. The portion of potato fritters was ok, but by no means as gigantic as advertised. I could easily have eaten another serving. At some point in the middle of the meal, the lighting under the umbrella was turned off - for no apparent reason. We didn't feel welcome or taken seriously as a guest. It's a shame we won't be back.

With us everything was fine. Waiters were in a good mood and eat ok.

Unfortunately, this restaurant cannot be given a positive response, as a very unfriendly and dismissive waitress did not give us a menu to eat. So we could save ourselves the tip for the unfriendly service.

I would like to write something about the food, but the unfriendly waitress didn't even give us a menu. It was a cheek how we were treated, we were simply ignored by the waitress.

Corona doesn't interest anyone there! We just had a drink here. No address list. The employee wore his mask under his chin. When asked where the address was, we got the following answer: "now and then I forget it". But he didn't come with a note so we could fill it out when I asked for it. We paid and went. He hadn't put the mask on properly during our entire presence. Does anyone care anymore? Is Corona done for him? This condition is catastrophic.

Came by the restaurant, saw the sign "Today kale". Since it was lunchtime anyway, I went to the restaurant and ordered "kale". It wasn't long before I was served the plate dish, it tasted very good with mettwurst and a slice of smoked pork. Nice restaurant for a good German meal.

Rude waitress, when she walk she doesn't look around and hit anyone in her way. I saw she hit 2 guest, even when the guest were upset, she just walk away

We had made a reservation. On arrival the owner told us that he had made a reservation knowing that he hadn’t a table free.

A restaurant found in the business district next to the cathedral, while studying the English menu, the waiter uncle called us to go directly to the Chinese menu~ (so happy, a la carte is convenient) As shown in the picture, a pork rib is fried pork chops. It is so delicious. The knuckles are very rotten and very tasty. The sauerkraut is extremely delicious. The mashed potatoes are a very good staple food. Food tastes, fried potatoes were just terrific. Espresso fits, the service, however, is not the bang. Not typical Cologne laxity, friendliness and attention as you are used to.

Lovely friendly bar and restaurant staff are attentive and very friendly. Food was very nice, local German dishes to taste. Spent 2 evenings here a great place to relax away from the bustle of the high street Would highly recommend ????

A small restaurant for elder couples and old friends. Good meals, Germany cuisine you will find here. A lot of local visitors.

We never got to the food. Waiter placed a piece of paper on our table that it is reserved after 20 min. Nice way to chase us away from an empty restaurant. The second star is for this innovative approach.

Relaxing atmosphere, interesting and fun people, food are not outstanding, but good enough for a hungry bird.

Very rude staff! Maybe Arturo is right and they are very racist. We waited for over half an hour and were given menus but never spoken to again, despite trying to politely get the waiters attention to order. He continued to serve people who came in after us and even though he made eye contact with us he never served us until we finally walked out.

¡¡¡Not recommended place!!! When we went to taste the German beer, the waiters were very racist. They do not accept foreigners and they expel you for using their mobile. I am very disappointed that in the 21st century there continues to be such a denigrating treatment for people of other nationalities. They think themselves superior, nothing of respect or humility. I feel realy sad.

Great authentic local German food and staff! Definetely worth coming here if you want to experience German food. The waiter recommended two specialty dishes, and they were very impressive.
